Arte ed educazione all'arte

In 2006 UNESCO organised the first World Conference on Arts Education in Lisbon. The Road Map which came out of it represented the reference document with which those activities necessary for promoting arts education in educational organizations (formal and non-formal) were declared. The Second World Conference on arts education, organised by UNESCO in Seoul in 2010, produced a document, the Seoul Agenda, in which the aims to be reached in this area were defined.

The International Biodiversity Decade (2011-2020), declared by UNESCO, has the goal of increasing the awareness and protection of biodiversity also within the perspective of sustainable development and of increasing the ability to attract scientific, historical and cultural interest in biodiversity, in all its forms.

Beyond 2009

The activities of International Astronomy Year organised by UNESCO in 2009 have proceeded well beyond that date. One of the goals of International Astronomy Year is to let as many people as possible feel the sense of discovery that Galileo experienced when he saw the lunar craters, Jupiter's moons and other wonders in the skies, with the goal of encouraging us to know the cosmos and reconsider our understanding of the real world.
